Shana Turner

Founder and Executive Director

Shana Turner was born on September 14th, 1969 in a small town on the Eastern Shore of Virginia by the name of Painter Va. Shana graduated from TCC with her Associates in Social Science and is currently attending Regent University to finish her Bachelor’s in Health Care Management. Shana is the oldest out of her siblings. Shana was raised by her mother and father Sandra and James Brickhouse. Shana was raised during a time of poverty, but that gave Shana a mindset of wanting more. Shana comes from a family of scientists, entrepreneurs, educators, musicians and well as city council, therefore, her drive to success has always been impeccable. Shana has owned many businesses and is not shy of driving her own career. Shana also has dedicated her time to many organizations just to name a few Relay for Life, Black Lives Matter, Susan G. Coleman, and suicide prevention walks. Shana has a heart that desires to help everyone and always provide support. Shana has three children by the name of Rakeem, Kiara, and Shaquille. She also has two grandchildren their names are Xavier and Micah. Shana raised her children as a single mother trying to beat the odds of the statistic rates of a woman who raise children alone. Shana beat the odds again, she raised three beautiful children who are very successful in their lives. Shana built the American dream for her children alone and despite every trial she encountered she never gave up.

On December 12th of 2017, Shana’s life came to a halt. She received a phone call that her youngest of Three, Shaquille T. Turner was gunned down on his way home from work. Shaquille’s senseless death left his community in a state of confusion as Shaquille was an exceptional young man with a promising future and a great head on his shoulders. Shaquille shined his light and his sense of humor allowed him to reach to all walks of life. In his honor, Shana founded HR MASK to keep Shaquille’s legacy alive and uplift families that are affected by senseless killings. HR MASK was set out to drive the voice of the innocent lives taken and touched. HR MASK intentions are to amend intentional act laws, HIPPA, Mental Health Issues and a closer look into the NICS system. HR MASK sets out to have communities involved with the youth as well as having communities get together with public officials and law enforcement to buckle down on violence. HR MASK and JRMASK is here to spread awareness, educate, and most importantly to be the voice of all lives lost and the families left behind. I also have a subsidiary called scarglobal757@facebook.com that I started five years ago, before the me too movement..I and my brother were victims of sexual abuse. Visit hr.mask@facebook.com , or HRMask.org , hr mask@instagram and twitter.
